Design Security Ltd Reviews CPTED Guidelines
Design Security Ltd is assisting with the review of a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Guideline (CPTED)
Design Security Ltd is working as part of the ASIS International team to review a recently published guideline document on CPTED. The review is on behalf of the International Organisation for Standards (ISO) Technical Committee 292 on Security and Resilience.
The review is focussing on the guideline document to ascertain if it can be developed into an International Standard.
Chris Aldous, Director of Design Security Ltd says ‘Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is often overlooked in new build projects and rarely applied to existing builds. Understanding the CPTED tools and applying these to influence behaviour making our societies safer at a lower cost than some technologies should be part of all planning considerations.
