Protecting Grey Space IFSEC 2018

Design Security Ltd are proud to have been asked by the Security Commonwealth to take part in a panel discussion at this year’s IFSEC 2018.

The discussion panel were introduced by Frank Gardner the BBC’s Security Correspondent.

Chris Aldous looked at the issues created by the current planning process in relation to on ‘grey space’. A key issue is that planners do not currently have strategic considerations around security as part of the brief for developments.  The argument is that if you want to design safe and secure spaces then thought on how the private and public spaces interact needs to be developed.

Chris was joined by the following panellists

Joe Connell – Praemunitus Ltd

Nick Aldworth – Metropolitan Police

Simon Whitehouse – SGW Consulting

Chris Aldous, Director of Design Security Ltd and Board Director of ASIS UK Chapter says ‘It is an honour to be asked to be involved in the discussion on how design can influence the lives of the people who use our urban spaces’.  Thank you to Dave Cooke of the Security Commonwealth and ASIS UK Chapter 208 for the invitation.
